EXT. FLEET
STREET FLATS – LATE EVENING
WE DESCEND UPON
the BODY of RITCHIE FLANKS. He lies LIMP close to the EDGE of the PAVEMENT.
SHARDS of GLASS surround him, as he has FALLEN out of the WINDOW of APARMENT 7B
from FLEET STREET FLATS.
BAKER wearing a
long PURPLE COTTON COAT, IS STANDING next to the FLANKS’S BODY, LOOKING at
the crime scene, and up at where the BODY had FALLEN from.
POLICEMAN
Ms. Baker!
A SHORT
policeman APPROACHES BAKER, PREPAREING to QUESTION her.
POLICEMAN
Baker, do you know the tenant
that lives in apartment 7B where
this man seems to have fallen from?
BAKER
I knew him. Last I heard from
him though was that he moved it
that very apartment.
POLICEMAN
writes the information down on to a NOTEPAD.
POLICEMAN
So you haven't heard of him every
since?
BAKER
No
POLICEMAN
Do you know this man?
BAKER
I do not, never seen him before
POLICEMAN
Alright, our prime suspect happens
not to be present in the apartment
and from looking at the scene of
the crime, it is illogical to
believe that this was a suicide.
So one last question, do you find
it reasonable to consider that
Mr. Trotter committed this murder?
BAKER looks
back at the BODY of FLANKS for a brief moment.
BAKER
Officer, I’m not to sure, but
I would like to be the one to
speak with him first.
